Junior Handler Events

These events are open to all junior handlers participating in any conformation, obedience, herding, agility or tracking venue at the National Specialty and participating in the ABTC junior program.

Handling Workshop

On Thursday morning, May 4, we will have a one hour interactive fun workshop. You will practice with your own dog in the conformation ring with three of our breed's recognized breeder-owner-handlers: Debby Boehm (Camarade), Darlene Laurin (Chateau Blanc), and Laurie Thal (Topline). The workshop will include tips from these top competitors on improving existing handling skills, grooming, stacking, moving and general ring behavior and presence. There will be special tokens for the most improved performance(s) at the end of the hour.

Scavenger Hunt

This fun activity will be orchestrated by Kate Eldridge, Ashley King and their families. It starts Thursday, May 4, and will take place on the grounds of the Hotel Carlisle, both indoors and outdoors. There will be secret clues for finding items and knowledge from people and things around the show. The winner will receive a special gift.

Tervuren 2-Miler

Junior handlers can participate and receive a t-shirt for no charge. The first junior boy and first junior girl crossing the finish line will receive a congratulatory gift. Please be sure to fill out the Terv 2-Miler section on the Specialty Order Form and check "Jr. Handler" on the form.
